Lasko Space Heater: A Comprehensive Product Review of 2019

Lasko Space Heater: A Comprehensive Product Review of 2019

As the weather begins to get colder, we start turning on the heat in our homes. Some homes are equipped with central heating, which means that each room has its own vent and the warm air blows all throughout the house. Other homes are equipped with baseboard heaters which run along the baseboard in different rooms of the home. Some homes rely on fireplaces, either wood or natural gas fueled, to keep them warm. But what can you do when you have a room that is cold even with the heating equipment already installed? Your best answer would be to use a Lasko space heater.

A space heater can be powered by electricity or by a burnable fuel like natural gas, propane, fuel oil, or wood pellets. It's used to provide heat to small spaces, like a single room in a home or in a motor home, and can be very useful to warm up all those areas that the main heating in the house just can't quite keep up with. In this article we will look at the Lasko 6405 Designer Oscillating Heater and how it compares to three other Lasko space heaters.

What Are Lasko Space Heaters?

Lasko space heaters are compact machines that provide heat for small rooms by using electricity. These space heaters plug into an outlet on the wall. Many are equipped with safety features to keep the user and his or her home safe while also providing the warmth and comfort needed. To operate the Lasko space heater, one would need to plug it in to an electrical outlet, select the desired temperature on the thermostat, select the duration you'd like the heater to operate, and decide whether you'd like the heater to oscillate or not. The heater will then keep the room warm based on those settings and then it will shut off after the pre-set duration of time has ended.

Product Specs

The Lasko 6405 Designer Oscillating Heater comes with a widespread oscillation to ensure all of the room receives the output of heat, an adjustable thermostat with an automatic shut-off timer, three quiet settings to choose from, and 1500 watts of warmth. It is relatively small at 16.05 inches tall and only 7.7 pounds, making it easy to transfer to different rooms as needed. It also has a beautiful design with a scrollwork base, making it a lovely addition to any room in your home.

Conclusion

Now that we've looked at the Lasko 6405 Designer Oscillating Heater and compared it to three other items also available from Lasko, we'd like to give our final verdict. We would give the Lasko 6405 4 stars out of 5. It has many features that we love, including the widespread oscillation, the adjustable thermostat, an automatic shut-off timer, and three quiet settings. We also love that it is so lightweight and is designed to look more like decor in the home than an ugly space heater

We are withholding that 5th star because of a few things that could be improved. There is no remote to change the thermostat and there is no built-in carry handle to move it around from room to room. We love those features on the other space heaters we looked at and feel if those were added to the Lasko 6405 Designer Oscillating Heater it would earn a full 5 stars from us. We hope this review helps you as you try to decide what kind of space heater is right for you.
